Fire resistant glass is produced base on glass chemically strengthening process. FR includes a bath to be filled with potassium salt and specially prepared catalyst. It is made use of ion exchanging process between alkali ions of glass and potassium ions in salt. The chemical reaction is carried out under a temperature far below glass softening point. During the ion exchanging, stress is created on glass surface. More potassium ions would migrate into glass when bathing time is longer.
